I am the owner of Nottingham & District Gun Club and Nottingham Sporting Clays. I have worked within the shooting industry for 30 years and have done every job imaginable within that time. I am the Chairman of the Nottinghamshire County Committee and the Vice Chair of the East Midlands Regional Committee as well as sitting on the DTL Sub Committee and have recently been asked to be the new Chair of the Skeet Sub Committee. I am also involved with the Nottinghamshire Firearms Independent Advisory Group.
I live in Rainworth, Nottinghamshire with my partner Linda and cocker spaniel Betty and have two (grown-up) daughters, who are both at university. I enjoy shooting and like to take part in DTL competitions and the County, Regional and National Championships that are held at Nottingham. I also enjoy spending time with friends and family, at the theatre, concerts or just having a nice relaxed meal.
I decided to stand as Director after several conversations with shooters from all walks of life – I felt it was important to have someone who would represent the views of the many rather than just focus on the top 5% of competition shooters. On a daily basis I see the agony and the ecstasy of this great sport of ours whether it be someone shooting a straight for the very first time or the winning of a national title. I believe that every achievement should be celebrated and we should all be more willing to positively advertise shooting to the general public to increase participation. I am always open to communication from members and can be reached at the ground seven days a week.
