GB Crowned European Champions in Croatia
Shooting GB’s Men’s Trap team are European Champions after taking it all the way to the wire in the final against Czech Republic in Croatia.
In a nail-biting gold medal match-up, Czech looked like they were about to seal the win when they were 5-3 up, but GB held their nerve when they needed to. It required all three of Aaron Heading, Steve Scott and Nathan Hales to hit their targets to keep them in the running for gold – and they did!
The back and forth continued as each team fought for the final point that would seal gold, before it eventually came down to Nathan Hales to win it for Great Britain. And that’s exactly what he did!!
What a moment for the GB Trap Team, and what a fantastic final to be a part of in the European Championships.
The result comes just a day after Nathan Hales and Lucy Hall had secured European Championships bronze in the mixed pairs trap event.
