Terry Humphreys 1954 - 2023
It is with personal sadness to report that Terry (El Tel ) Humphreys (he got this nickname shooting for the British Team in Barcelona in 1991), Life Member of the CPSA, died on 11th August 2023. He was a shooter all his life, representing his County Lincolnshire, the East Midlands, England and Great Britain in many trap shooting competitions. His early success was in DTL and ZZ representing Great Britain as Captain of the European ZZ team winning team silver in 1993. He then switched back to DTL winning, many local and national championships in trap sports, DTL, HBD, DR, Single Barrel, and Olympic Trap culminating in becoming the DTL World Champion in Wales 1994. Terry also won the Krieghoff Classic DTL in Wales in 2001.
I had the pleasure of shooting with him on many occasions and although not in his class, I always looked forward to and enjoyed shooting with him. Terry will be missed by his many friends in the shooting world.
Terry's funeral will be held at Grantham Crematorium on Monday 25th September 11.30am
