ICTSF World DTL Report
The 13th ICTSF World DTL Championships took place at the ACTA National Ground, Wagga Wagga, Australia from the 25 – 27 March.
The England team shooters got off to a difficult start on the first morning, shooting in winds which were reaching up to 40 MPH, making it far from the ideal start.
This particularly played into the hands of the hosts and the Australian No.1 team led from the start and were strong throughout in the senior category, finishing ahead of the Australian No.2 team and New Zealand No.1 in third.
England’s only success came in the Super Vets category, with Ian Coley, Nigel Lovatt and John Adams taking home a well-deserved silver medal.
Owen Vining shot a lovely 100/295 on the second day to give the Junior team a chance of a bronze medal, but they narrowly missed out, losing in a shoot off to New Zealand.
It was no surprise to see Australian shooters dominate the individual honours, taking a top three clean sweep across all the categories.
Our congratulations go to Frazer Roberts who scored 970 to take the overall title.
It was announced at the main presentation that the 2020 ICTSF WORLD DTL World Championship will be held on home soil at Bywell Shooting Ground. The current President Robert Nugent stepped down and Connor Mooney from Ireland has taken the role.
