Yorkshire seniors won the ABT National Inter-Counties title for the 11th consecutive year at The National Clay Shooting Centre on Sunday 8 October.

The Yorkshire team held a healthy advantage at the halfway point of the shoot and despite being pursued by Hereford and Worcester, went on to win by 19 points.

It was no surprise that a Yorkshire shooter took the Overall High Gun as well. After shooting a 25 straight after his first round, Ian Ainsley shot 23 in his second round, before finishing with a sublime 50 straight over his last two rounds to take the title on 98 ex 100.

David Simmons from Sussex finished close behind on 97 and Ian’s Yorkshire teammate Chris Tate came third on 95.

Jo-Ann Allen and Bradley Ballantyne both shot 89 to take the Ladies and Junior titles respectively, whilst Ruben Bowyer finished on 87 to win Colts.

The Veterans had to go to a shoot-off to determine the High Gun, with Phil Sanders and John Randerson both finishing on 94. Phil scored 24 in the shoot off to edge John out who shot 21.

The remaining team category winners were made up of the top two scores, with Lincolnshire enjoying success in the Ladies on 162, Kent claiming victory in the Juniors on 176 and Yorkshire taking the honours again in the Veterans category on 185.
