CPSA Awards 2018 Nominations
The CPSA Awards take place on Saturday 3rd February 2018 at the Belfry Hotel & Resort.
After the success of the Awards in 2017, we are returning to the Belfry and will hopefully stage an even more memorable event next year. The Awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of individuals, clubs and other organisations that help to promote and develop clay shooting in England.
There are ten different awards which will be presented on the night and they all focus on a different aspect of the sport to acknowledge outstanding achievement in that field.
The Award categories are as follows:
Clay Shooter of the Year
Coach of the Year
Disabled Shooter of the Year
Young Shot of the Year
Emerging Shooter of the Year
Special Contribution Award
Club/Ground of the Year
Development Initiative of the Year
Volunteer of the Year
County Committee of the Year
The Emerging Shooter of the Year is a new category for the Awards in 2018. This category recognises a shooter of any age or discipline, who is really starting to show brilliant talent, but may not have been recognised yet for their shooting ability.
Nominations for the 2018 Awards are now open! You have until 30th October 2017 to submit a nomination for any of the categories. Click here to nominate now.
In 2017 Ed Ling was named Clay Shooter of the Year, following his success at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. Speaking after he won the Award, Ed said:
"It’s a great honour to be up here and I’d like to thank the CPSA for organising the event. I must also thank my family for all the support they have given me over the years. This is a fantastic way to round off what has been a great year for me."
Venue
We are delighted to announce that for 2018 the Awards will be held at the Belfry Hotel & Resort in Warwickshire. This venue has become synonymous with golf holding the Ryder Cup 4 times and is a Mecca for both professional and amateur players, and we are delighted to be able to hold our Awards at this fantastic venue.
