Success at Olympic Skeet Home International

Tricky conditions made for some challenging targets at Mid Wales Shooting Centre on the 12th August 2017 for the 41st Home International. The England Senior team comprising of Jeremy Bird, Michael Gilligan, Andrew Lea, Paul Tudge, David Dale, Chris Pratt, Ross Elgie, Dominic Cooper and, new cap, Luke Young was pushed all day by Wales and Ireland. England eventually finishing 13 targets ahead of Wales to win the day.

Overall High Gun was Grant Buchanan from Ireland after a Shooting off with Elena Allen. A three way shoot off between Chris Pratt, Jeremy Bird and David Dale, all on 93/100, decided England's High Gun, Chris Pratt. Jeremy Bird was Runner Up.

Edward Medforth was the Junior High Gun with a score of 89/100, Junior Runner Up was James Rounsevell with 85/100.

Natalie Bales from Wales took the Ladies High Gun (85/100) with England's Emily Hibbs taking Runner up with 83/100 and Lee Bowditch took the Veteran High Gun title with 83/100.

Mixed Team Event (ladies, juniors, Vets & Super Vets) was again won by England with the top 4 scores to count (340/400). The team consisted of Emily Hibbs (83/100), Nicki Wakeford (72/100), Edward Medforth (89/100), James Rounsevell (85/100), Lea Bowditch (83/100), Phil Musson (75/100), Jonathan Davidson (73/100) and Phil Boardman (64/100). Wales was Runner Up with 316/400.

The Banquet held at the quirky but yet fascinating Gregynog Hall was enjoyed by everyone and a special thanks must go to the staff who looked after the England Team extremely well all weekend.
