British Open Sporting & Sportrap (Day 1)
We were very pleased to welcome shooters today for the CPSA British Open English Sporting and Sportrap Championships ! It was a slightly breezy start, but luckily the targets were sheltered from the worst of the wind by an interesting use of the ground's valley shape by the course setter. Feedback on the sporting was that it was a very enjoyable shoot and the ground looked superb, thanks to all of the hard work by course setter Jamie Peckham and the team at E.J. Churchill Swinton.
The prize draw started this morning, with a live random number generator picking Trevor Hawkes, Jack Parks, and Jay Smith as the first three lucky winners of our sponsored prizes. A huge thank you to our sponsors for their generous contributions to the prize pot this week: Teague Precision Chokes, Swatcom, Eley, Browning, Schöffel & Le Chameau!
For most of the first Sporting qualifying day our top scorer was George Digweed, who got in early with an excellent 110x120, but a last-minute entry from Martin Myers puts him at the top of our Day 1 roundup with 113x120. Leslie Rushford and Matt Bodfish are tied for third, both with 108x120.
In the British Open Sportrap, Billy Cook put in an excellent 93ex100, with James Bradley-Day and Richard Bunning close behind on 92ex100. Well done to all who shot today.

The top five from each class (AAA - C) and top three from the following categories of Senior, Super Veterans, Veterans, Ladies, Juniors & Colts per day will be invited back for the 75 target final on Saturday. With the Disabled Category, it is the top standing score and top sitting score plus the next best score regardless of standing or sitting per day to qualify.
