World English Sporting 2023 - Day Six
Warm sunshine and a clear sky welcomed the shooters on day six of the CPSA World English Sporting at E J Churchill Shooting Ground.
Today, we saw the conclusion of the ESP Prelim and the standout score in the morning came from Amy Easeman with a fantastic 97ex100, however Zachary Kienbaum scored a huge 99 to knock Christophe Auvret from the top spot so many congratulations to him as the 2023 Prelim ESP High Gun.
In the Super Sporting today, top score of the day came from George Digweed with a 95ex100 but it wasn't enough to topple Richard Faulds from the top spot currently with 96 with one day to go.
In the World Sportrap, Mark Winser top scored today with a 95ex100 but Guy Franklin and Christophe Auvret still maintain the top position tied on 96, also with one day to go.
In the World English Sporting, James Attwood's 184ex200 was the highest score on day 6 of the competition but Sam Green's 189 still heads the leader board with the final rotation, including the international teams, to go on Friday and Saturday.
Today, we also saw the eagerly anticipated Yanks v Brits competition with selected shooters from the US and England Teams taking part in a show-case shoot-off in front of a large crowd and after a fine display of shooting from both teams, England emerged victorious to win the beautiful crystal trophy sponsored by Shots & Co and Fine Shooting Accessories.
We also enjoyed the opening ceremony with all of the international teams, decked out in their country uniforms and brandishing their national flags, being presented to the large crowd to much applause. We look forward to seeing how they fare on the World courses over the next two days.
We are grateful for the generous support of sponsors Browning, Gamebore, Eley Cartridges, B & P Cartridges, Swatcom, Schöffel and Le Chameau who have provided guns, cartridges, hearing protection and clothing vouchers respectively as prizes for winners along with addition to the prize fund. We are also grateful for Teague Precision Chokes, Shots & Co, Starkey Outdoor & Promatic for their support of the championships.
