British Open Sporting & Sportrap 2021 (Day 1)

championships

The first day of the CPSA British Open English Sporting and Sportrap started with a light drizzle but this soon cleared away to leave dry and reasonably sunny conditions with a mild wind, a perfect start to a CPSA Championship week.

The prize draw started the morning, with a live random number generator picking Peter Fitkin as the lucky winner of a fantastic set of Pilla shooting glasses generously provided by Tom Starkey from Starkey Outdoor. Peter was naturally delighted and set off to shoot the course with his new lenses on.

Feedback on the sporting was that it was a very enjoyable shoot and the ground looked superb, thanks to all of the hard work by the E J Churchill team over the last month. Certainly World ESP champion Mark Winser thought so, saying that it was a lovely course and his score of 113ex120 was leading the way, just one ahead of Jamie Brightman and John Wells on 112 each.

On the British Open Sportrap, David Woolley is currently leading the pack on 98ex100, three ahead of Rob Claybrook on 95.

Well done to all who shot today.
