DAY 4 - CPSA World Championships - FITASC Results

Richard Faulds has been crowned High Gun of the FITASC Sporting Open 2021 at EJ Churchill Shooting Ground, in Buckinghamshire.

Richard Faulds placed an incredible late score today of 93ex100 just beating Jack Lovick’s reigning score of 90ex100 which he shot on Day 1 of the CPSA World Championships on Monday 5th June. Jack won the 2018 FITASC Sporting Open back in 2018, with Richard Faulds just missing out on the shoot-off.

English Veteran Kevin Howland who shot today, pipped fellow countryman, Phil Rowbottom to the post, to be placed Third Overall, as well as to Win the Veterans category on a score of 89ex100, one point ahead of Phil. In the Super Veterans category John Bidwell also from England, put in an excellent score of 82 ex100 for a 2-point lead win.

 In ladies, Beckie Mckenzie put in a superb score of 80ex100, 6 points ahead of her competition to lift the Ladies High Gun title.  

In the Juniors, there were only 1-point between each of the top three, with Will Page taking High Gun on 78ex100

Meanwhile in the CPSA World English Sporting Championship, the second rotation of shooters arrived to shoot day one on the Rizzini and Gamebore courses. Putting in strong scores and the ones to watch for tomorrows second instalment are James Bradley-Day on 97ex100, James Pile on 93ex100 and Phil Easeman on 92ex100. Some great shooting by them all!

In the Prelim Sporting competition David Marshall shot an incredible round, only dropping two targets to finish on an astonishing score of 98 ex100 to claim the lead over Martin Elworthy’s 97ex100 from yesterday – Day 3.

On Day 4 of the World Sportrap no change in the top spots, but great shooting all round with perfect conditions as the weather was clear. Simon Fowler, A class shooter said “The layouts are pretty even in difficulty, I think four is harder because you start to get a big tired by the time you get down there – that’s it”.
