British Open English Sporting & Sportrap Day 1
The first day of the British Open English Sporting and Sportrap has seen some great shooting, as the weather varied between light showers in the morning and sunshine in the afternoon.
Currently, Ben Thorrold leads the English Sporting, whilst George Digweed MBE leads the Sportrap.
High Lodge Leisure has pulled out all of the stops to host this event, converting a portion of their golf course to facilitate the first four stands of the Sporting Course, allowing for some scenic shots across the fairways. John Bidwell and his team set a course designed to please shooters of all levels, and 'Something for everyone' was a comment about the course made by many shooters coming off of stand 15.
The event is made possible thanks to the generous support of sponsors Rizzini (distributed in the UK by ASI), Gamebore, who have provided a gun and cartridges respectively as prizes for winners, and Musto.
The top five shooters from each class (AAA, AA, A, B, and C) and the top three from each category (Ladies, Seniors, Veterans, Juniors, Colts, and Disabled Standing and Disabled Sitting) will be invited to shoot the 75-target Final on Sunday. The top six scores from the Final will be invited to a 25-target Super Final.
