English & British Open Handicap By Distance Report
Nottingham and District Gun Club held the English and British Open Handicap By Distance on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 August. 
Local shot Russ Hufton was in superb form as he posted a stunning 99/290 shooting from the AA mark to take the English Open High Gun honours on Saturday. Robert Tucker finished runner up on 96/285, whilst Graham Taylor came third recording 97/283.
Liz Shanks made the most of her B class mark to score 91/261, narrowly beating Charlotte Kitchen who finished on 91/259 from A class mark.

The British Open title was very closely contested on the Sunday. Devon shooter Richard Chapple just did enough to take the High Gun honours by two points, finishing on 98/287.
Dropped points in the first round from Lee Wilcoxson and Dave Garrett proved costly as they both just fell just short of Richard's score, each posting 98/285. In the shoot off for second place Dave let a few costly points slip away and Lee made no mistake in capitalising to take the runner up spot.
Charlotte Kitchen returned to go one better in the Ladies category from her second place finish the day before. Her score of 88/254 secured the title.
The Junior category was very hotly contested, with Connor Harris and Stephen Ayshford finishing level on 95/275 and 94/275 respectively. In the shoot off, 16-year-old Connor from Leicestershire managed to hold his composure, shooting 23/67, whilst Stephen could only manage 21/61.
