British Open Sporting & Sportrap 2023 (Day 4)
The final qualifying day of the CPSA British Open Sporting, before Sunday’s invitational Final, and the final day of the British Open Sportrap started with calm, clear conditions which warmed up considerably through the day into a sunny afternoon as shooters tackled the two courses for the final time.
Simon Tynan, Mark Dudley, Timothy Simmons & Jamie Firn were the lucky winners of our daily prize draw. A huge thank you to Teague Precision Chokes, Swatcom, Eley and Browning for their generous donations.
On this final day of qualifying, Andrew McKeown shot a Day 4 high score of 115x120, closely followed by Billy Baughan with 111x120, and Sam Ward on 109x120. Georgia Moule shot a Ladies high score of 105x120 and Mark Delf shot an incredible 107x120.
Today we saw the conclusion of the British Open Sportrap, with Mark Winser securing the title of British Open Sportrap Champion 2023 after beating Guy Franklin (World Sportrap 2023 Champion) by just one target in a close shoot-off. Many congratulations Mark!

The top five from each class (AAA - C) and top three from the following categories of Senior, Ladies, Super Veterans, Veterans, Juniors & Colts per day will be invited back for the 75 target final on Sunday. With the Disabled Category, it is the top standing score and top sitting score plus the next best score regardless of standing or sitting per day to qualify.
Please note, with the new classifications from the 1st September, scores to determine final places will be taken from your highest classification across the championships. For the purpose of qualifying, it will be the class on day of shooting.
The following table shows all who have qualified each day, and are therefore invited back to shoot on Sunday for the 75 Sporting Final.
