English Open Sporting 2024 - Day 4

championships

The fourth day of the CPSA English Open English Sporting at Doveridge started out overcast but broke out into lovely warm sunshine mid afternoon - keeping things interesting around the course.

As we've come to expect, the ground was ready to go and squads set off on schedule for the penultimate day of the English Open.

Glenn Halls and Nicholas Beavis tied for high scorers of the day, each with 114 ex120. In Super Veterans, Peter Jarvis shot 107, and Paul Freeman 103 for Veterans. Joshua Poyser shot 106 in Juniors, with Fern Lancaster top of both Colts and Ladies on 102 ex120, followed closely by Sharon Niven on 98 ex120. After four days of shooting we have just half a day to go on Sunday !

Please remember the 2024 English Open Sporting is a 'first past the post' championship so there will only be shoot-offs to determine any ties. Please check the class and category results below and keep a close eye on the live scoring on Sunday in case you need to return. Any sponsored prizes in category will be forfeited if the category winner is not present on Sunday for the prize giving presentations!

James Bradley Day's 117 ex120 still stands as the top score overall. With plenty of top shots still to come, including Richard Bunning, Sam Green and Mark Winser, this might go down to the wire!

We are grateful for the generous support of sponsors Browning,  Eley Cartridges, Swatcom, Schöffel and Le Chameau who have provided guns, cartridges, hearing protection and clothing vouchers respectively as prizes for winners along with addition to the prize fund. We are also grateful for Teague Precision Chokes and Shots & Co for support with our daily raffle prizes.
