Young Shot of the Year
(sponsored by Beretta)

Nominees

Benjamin Jordan John Porter Edward Armett

I am very pleased to have been nominated for CPSA Young Shot of The Year. Shooting is a family tradition which I am proud to be part of.  At 14 I have been very excited to compete against some of the best shooters in the country.

Commenced A class moving to AA and now aiming for AAA.  I have achieved the following results:

A Class - Winner – Essex Gun Masters and Blaser Cup

Colts - Winner – Colts Challenge at the Games Fair

Second – British Super Sporting and Sport Trap

Several wins in weekend club shoots A, AA and High Guns

2024 has been a fantastic year, I was lucky enough to win Colts at the English Open and British Open in English Sporting for the 2nd year running and achieve my personal goal of top 10 positions overall in both. Further to that I managed to finish 3rd overall at the Beretta Worlds.

I have also been lucky enough to get a sponsorship deal from Beretta, so my trusty Silver Pigeon has now become a 694.

The competitions I entered were all well run, the efforts of everyone associated to them are always appreciated but the comradery of the shooters I get to shoot with is what makes them such an enjoyable experience.

My other personal achievements were to lift my Sporting average to over 92 and to cover the cost of my cartridges for the 4th year running by doing jobs for my Dad.

I still spend as much time training as shooting for fun and it continues to present me with challenges and helps build my confidence, so I continue to enjoy every trip out.

Following on from my achievements last year I have continued to train hard and have had another successful year on the DTL circuit.

Once again, I finished in the top three juniors at the England selections, gaining me a place in the team for the Home International, European Championships and World Championships. At the home International I won the Junior High Gun of England and the overall match. For the European I was part of the winning Junior team and at the World champs I finished 5th Junior and won a junior team silver medal.

At the prestigious Dougall Memorial I won the junior title and later in the year, I retained the junior titles at both the English Open and British Open Single Barrel championships. In addition to junior titles I have also won several championships outright, including the East Midlands Inter-counties DTL
